We are looking for a skilled and dynamic Industrial Engineer to join SA Biomedical, a leading national distributor of medical devices. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to enhance our operational systems using advanced data insights, optimizing supply chain efficiencies and driving significant financial outcomes. Your responsibilities will include optimizing operational processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance within the medical device distribution environment. The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of supply chain processes and logistics operations. You will collaborate closely with a diverse team to deliver tangible value, addressing complex business challenges. Specifically, this role will focus on assessing and optimizing warehouse layouts and stock movement between warehouses to enhance operational efficiency. You will drive change and provide cost-effective solutions to continually improve processes as our business expands. Travel between our branches will be required. Process Optimization: Analyzing existing supply chain processes to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This includes conducting thorough assessments of current warehouse layouts and workflows to identify opportunities for optimization in efficiency, space utilization, and throughput. Developing and implementing innovative strategies to optimize warehouse flow, such as layout adjustments, storage solutions, and workflow redesigns. Collaboration with Supply Chain Management: Working closely with supply chain management teams to enhance logistics and distribution networks. You will also evaluate current delivery and collection processes, proposing cost-effective options to streamline fleet requirements and route planning. This involves ensuring timely and accurate delivery and collection of our medical devices, contributing to overall operational excellence. Inventory Management Strategies : Contribute to strategies for efficient inventory control, including optimization of stock levels, inventory flow, and warehouse layout. System Design and Integration: Develop innovative solutions and strategies to streamline cross-functional processes and integrate new technologies for enhanced operational performance. Data-Driven Insights: Utilize advanced analytics and data modeling techniques to derive actionable insights and recommendations. Project Management: Initiate and lead project teams internal and external through the entire lifecycle of design, planning, budgeting, resource allocation, implementation, and operational phases, ensuring alignment with objectives and project timelines. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including warehouse operations, logistics, and procurement, to implement recommended improvements effectively. KPI's and Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by designing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting post-implementation reviews, and identifying further enhancement opportunities. Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial engineering or supply chain consulting roles, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in complex environments. Technical Skills: Proficiency in process optimization, system design, data analysis, and project management. Experience with supply chain modeling software and ERP systems is a plus. Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights, strategic recommendations and actions. The ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Detail-oriented : with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a high performance environment. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Medical device and reverse logistics supply chain best practices, logistics operations, and industry trends. Quality standards: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to medical device distribution (e.g. ISO 13485). Must have own vehicle.
