Finance Manager Bromhoff – JHB – Gauteng Position Purpose The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial management, operations, and reporting at the company, in line with the organisations’ finance policies, procedures and objectives. The incumbent will need to be astute in financial accounting standards, relevant legislation and be comfortable dealing with systems and data integration. Two subordinates Accountant and bookkeeper KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES The Financial Functions 60 % · Daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reporting – P&L and Balance Sheets. · Coordinate the annual budget process. · Annual preparation and monthly reviewing of budgets. · Coordinate and manage the annual audit process. · Collecting, interpreting, and analysing financial information. · Income data importation and reconciliation with the companies CRM system, accounting system and bank accounts. · Expenditure and income variations and analysis. · Cashflow forecasting. · SARS payments and submissions processing and filing. · Internal audit requirements are prepared in accordance with procedure. · Financial System development, integration, and data integrity evaluation. · Processing annual SARS Section 18A certificate submissions. · Maintain the integrity of the general ledger including the preparation, verification, and input of journal entries. · Ability to customise / create accounting system reports. · Managing daily cashflow requirements. · Authorise expenditure in line with the approved limits of authority Payroll Management 10 % · Payroll procedures updated, signed, and approved, as and when required. · Ensure no penalties arise from late or non-payment of statutory requirements. · Prepare monthly payroll and maintain all associated files. · Audit, balance, and reconcile payroll monthly. · Prepare and load salaries for release. · Calculate and prepare leave and bonus provision journals for month end and capture to financial system. · Monthly EMP201 reconciliation and submission for month end. · Prepare PAYE Bi-annual EMP501 returns and reconciliations to SARS and submit through EsyFile. · Update and reconcile employee benefits on the various platforms, such as Allan Gray and medical aid and consult with employees on the various benefits. · Issue IRP5 certificates to all employees annually. · Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, etc. Management 30% · Management, support, and development of staff · Manage day-to-day operations within finance department. · Ongoing review and development of accounting and financial policies, workflows, procedures, and SOP’s. · Managing risk of financial loss together with the identification of procedures to avoid or minimize negative impact. · Support CEO with special projects and ad hoc duties and financial analysis projects. · Manage external relationships and engage with relevant stakeholders (Auditors, Banks, and statutory organisations). · Contract management with suppliers. · Ensuring that the handling of supplier / supporter escalations and resolutions occurs timeously when related to financial aspects, developing close relationships. · Oversee the fixed asset addition and disposal process and ensure that all reconciliations are prepared in accordance with policies and procedures. Skills: · Ability to manipulate large amounts of data. · Dynamic and strategic thinker with the ability to combine innovation with sound business acumen. · Excellent communication ability, both written and oral · Analytical and forecast capabilities. · Experience with SAGE accounting platforms and preferably with Sage Intacct Behaviours: · Organised and strategic thinker · High attention to detail and accuracy · Goal orientated. · Ability to work independently, possibly remotely and to deadlines. · Quick learner and systems thinker · Does not procrastinate. · Proactive Knowledge: · Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations · Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and experience of medium to large financial software packages e.g., SAGE Intacct Qualifications and Experience: · Accounting, Financial Management or related degree · Minimum 10 years’ financial management experience · Proven experience of managing teams.
