Lead Industrial Simulation Engineer - Cape Town City Centre


Job Description:
Lead the design, development, and validation of sophisticated simulation models tailored for automotive production lines
Coordinate task assignments among engineering team members
Provide mentorship and technical leadership, guiding engineers in their professional development
Oversee the collection and analysis of production data to refine simulation parameters
Identify critical bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in production lines, developing strategic solutions
Evaluate simulation results to generate actionable insights for optimizing processes
Collaborate closely with senior management, production, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with overarching goals
Present comprehensive simulation findings and strategic proposals to senior stakeholders and leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance simulation accuracy, effectiveness, and overall production efficiency
Facilitate the seamless integration and deployment of engineering designs and data into production environments

Skills & Experience:
10-15 years of extensive post-graduate experience developing and deploying simulation models within manufacturing, particularly in the automotive sector
Advanced proficiency in simulation software, notably Simio, and familiarity with tools like Arena, FlexSim, or AnyLogic provides additional advantage
Thorough comprehension of manufacturing processes, dynamics of production lines, and principles of lean manufacturing
Proficient in data analysis, statistical methods, and optimization techniques
Demonstrated leadership in overseeing simulation projects and teams
Strong project management skills, adept at managing concurrent projects
Willingness to travel internationally as required
Expertise in manufacturing processes and production line dynamics
Advanced proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, Microsoft Excel, and simulation software
Meticulous attention to detail and precision
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proven track record in leadership and team management
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating complex technical information to stakeholders
Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Qualification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field of study
