Willow Soaps located in Kya Sands, focused contract manufacturing and packing company in the cosmetic and toiletry industry. We are an established concern of 30 years and we specialize in producing high-quality palm and glycerine soaps, as well as a variety of liquids comprising of gels, lotions and emulsions. The company is currently looking for a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to join the team. Job purpose summary: As part of a team of technicians as directed by the Production Manager/Maintenance Supervisor, assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all Production Line Equipment to ensure functional reliability to meet the 24 hour requirements of the operations. To creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals. Production Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturer's recommendation, ISO certification requirements and safety standards) on the various Production Line Equipment to ensure reliable/optimum utilisation of the same. Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on all Production Line Equipment under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized. Assist in the daily inspection of all Production Line Equipment. for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area. Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (OHSE, ISO 9001:2015) and is in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Ensure that all prescribed safe systems of work for processes and activities derived from risk assessments are adhered to Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System. Inform the Senior Maintenance Technician / Supervisors of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of any maintenance works. Report to Operations staff on status of machine breakdowns. To manage and deliver departmental based projects. Perform Preventive Maintenance on all Production Line Equipment as per PM Task Sheet. Fill out the necessary documentation that is required when performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) Tasks While performing PM tasks observe equipment and check for any potential problem items not listed on task sheets. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service to the equipment. Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons. Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems To contribute to Six Sigma, 5s and lean activities as they relate to own area of responsibility Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians Ensure good house - keeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools. KPI's Safety Quality Cost Delivery Communication Skills Matric or equivalent. Good Mechanical Aptitude. 3 - 5 years' experience in some form of maintenance of production machinery. Electro-Mechanical Engineering qualification or similar. Computer literacy Professional accreditation with an industry related body would be advantageous Proven knowledge of continuous improvement techniques e.g. 6 Sigma Black or Green belt trained, 5S principles, Kaizen, Project management skills Commercial understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery Packaging Line experience R600 000.00 per annum
