•Ensure correct RM and quantities have been picked for upcoming batches & sign picking slip •Check that designated reactor is clean and correctly set up for upcoming batch •Every Friday you need to inform a how many drums and pallets we have in stock •Supervise the loading of reactors as per Processing Log / Batch card •Check temperature and other settings are correct on burner, cooling tower, reactor and SolventRecycling Plant •Check that all valves are closed before loading the reactor •Consult with Technical Manager if out of spec for corrective action and implement •Supervise the drumming off of batches and supervise employees when crushing hard resins •Record and do a physical count of final quantities drummed off on batch card •Supervise and Check all incoming and outgoing deliveries. Prepare paperwork for transporter to signoff. Sign off delivery notes (not to be signed off by stock controller/picker) •Ensure Raw Material is packed with newest stock at the back and oldest at the front to ensure it isused in a FIFO (First In, First Out) basis •When receiving raw material, clearly indicate the RM code on the product with date RM received •Always check that RM, FG and Sludge are marked clearly and packed neatly •At least 5x Batches of Medium must be made in one weeks time - •Manage Solvent Plant and be aware of all activities thereof. •All spillages / breakages to be reported immediately to Operations Manager •Walk plant at the end of shift with incoming Shift Supervisor and complete, sign and file "Hand overcheck list" •Ensure all staff are wearing appropriate PPE (Different areas, functions require different PPE) AT ALLTIMES •Monitor and report absenteeism to Operations Manager •PRP bathroom to be kept locked at all times. If someone needs the key, ensure it is locked when it isreturned •Any work related problems not to be discussed with staff but to be discussed with Operations manager Ensure that staff keep their assigned area's clean at all times. Inspections will be done • Make sure you complete a leave form the next day if you were not at work. It is your responsibility to make sure that a leave form is completed • From time to time, it will be necessary to work over weekends, this is mandatory. Overtime will be paid • Stocktake is held over two days every 3 months (quarterly) and it is mandatory for all Shift Supervisors to be available until the Stocktake is finalised (This may entail overtime being necessary) • Have weekly meeting with Operations Manager and discuss production plan, upcoming orders, incoming and outgoing deliveries for the upcoming week as well as any maintenance or staff issues on the plant • At the end of weeks production, ensure all machinery (boiler, cooling tower, reactors, etc.) are safely shut down and switched off and plant is left clean and ready for production the following week. Ensure all cleaning boils have been completed. No one is allowed to leave the plant until reactors are 100% cleaned. • Have weekly Health and Safety meetings with all staff to raise HSE issues. This is to be documented, signed by all present and given to Operations Manager for filing • Roster to be drawn up and ensure that it is undertaken for cleaning of PRP bathroom • Weekly Plant Checklist to be completed and handed to Sonika • After filling products, clean nylon bags and clean filling points • Remove and clearly mark all part drums • Make sure that all dirt bins are clean at all times (Lab, Change room) • Leave all work areas clean and tidy after your shift ends • South African citizen with valid South African ID • Minimum Grade 12 qualification • Valid South African Driver's License • Excellent Computer Skills – Microsoft Office / Windows 10 / Excel • Minimum 15 years' experience in the Chemical Industry and Shift Supervision The salary bracket would be between R17 000 and R20 000 with benefits.
