Our client the National Transmission Company of South Africa (NTCSA) is looking for an experienced Engineer who will be responsible for setting up and managing communication networks to ensure effective communication. Key Responsibilities Produces and integrates engineering solutions/designs for asset creation on behalf of customers at various stages of the project lifecycle. Conducts discipline-specific research into new technologies. Manages and conducts product, equipment, material, service, and change impact evaluation. Provides a technical consulting and investigating service for customers (OU Support) Design and standards creation– this process is set to provide technically sound standards to establish new technologies and the associated life cycle management thereof to achieve the customers' requirements. Product development –development and establishment of new standardized technologies, typically culminating in the establishment of supply Contracts. Project planning, support, and application design engineering – entails the planning and application of the above standards for the delivery of site-specific engineering designs Knowledge: PLC Tele protection SDH OLTE (fibre optics and high capacity routing) Access Radio ISM band links OTN DWDM MPLS-TP Computer or Electronics Engineering Disciplines Telecom Operations Engineering theory Relevant processes, procedures, policies, guidelines, and legislation. Operational support systems Minimum Requirements: BSc / B Eng. in Engineering qualification 3 -4 years post qualifications experience in Engineering-related technologies. Professional Registration Body with (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer is advantageous
