Ensure optimal performance of machinery and equipment by performing fitting tasks, diagnosing faults, and conducting repairs or preventative maintenance when required, adhering to the standards set. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, assess, and diagnose faults in machinery and equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including replacing parts, cleaning machinery, and lubricating moving parts Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to understand fitting requirements Use a range of tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment Collaborate with the engineering team to implement machine improvements and modifications Document maintenance and repair work for record-keeping and capture all on the system. Provide regular updates to the lead engineer and other stakeholders on the status of maintenance projects Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns and resolving them in a timely manner Ensure compliance with all safety and safety standards and procedures Educational Qualifications: Relevant certificate or diploma in Mechanical engineering or related field. Relevant trade certification as a mechanical fitter Knowledge and Experience: 3 years of experience as a mechanical fitter Work experience in the food manufacturing industry. Experience using various tools and equipment for fitting Knowledge of plant/ factory and food safety requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Key Competencies: Strong mechanical aptitudes and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency breakdowns Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications Communication & interpersonal skills.
