Reference: JHB000486-AT-1 Company based in Cape Town is looking for a qualified Turner Machinist capable of operating lathes and milling machines to high tolerances in a jobbing environment. Requirements: Approved and recognized Trade test qualification (Turner Machinist) Minimum of 5 plus years relevant working experience within the engineering or metal industry Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit) Good hand eye co-ordination Hands on practical approach to the job Ability to work under challenging conditions Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English) Must be prepared to work overtime when required Own transport No criminal record Qualifying Attributes: Hard working and self-motivated Time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Logical and detail orientated Responsibilities: Examine detailed drawings or specifications to establish job, material and equipment requirements. Operate machines to produce parts but turning, boring, milling Slotting or drilling metal components Ensuring that the quality of work is up to the required standards Check accuracy and quality of finished parts
